The Jacksonville Jaguars sacked Jacoby Brissett 10 times in Week 7, tying a franchise record that was set in Week 1. The 27-0 shutout win over the Indianapolis Colts improved the Jaguars to 4-3 and upped their sack total to 33 on the year.

“I’ll be figuring out how to try to win a game,” he told McManamon. “I hear we’re staying 40 minutes or so from the actual city, too.”

Britt has struggled this season, too. He has just 10 catches for 128 yards and one touchdown. Complaints about the flight length and the time players spend away from home for London games are valid, but maybe Britt should follow Kizer’s lead and focus on his performance, not where he’s playing.

This is more than just a place-holder opinion. Now 3 judges have weighed in on ‘fundamental fairness’, and all 3 have sided with the NFLPA.

Blake Bortles completed a seven-yard pass to James O’Shaughnessy, but was met by Vince Williams who fell beneath the backup tight end while trying to tackle him. O’Shaughnessy may have been laying on his back, but with Williams in the way, he wasn’t yet down. That’s when Shazier entered the play, popped the ball from the Jaguar’s hands, and plucked it out of the air for the rare interception that wasn’t Bortles fault.

The 49ers released Bowman on Friday. GM John Lynch released the following statement:

Skip, I get it. It’s frustrating because– And we all said, we was like, OK, once an injury happen, somebody’s gonna call Kap. Well this quarterback got injured, and that quarterback got injured, and this one. We get a guy out of retirement. We call guys that hadn’t thrown a pass in two or three years in the NFL. Kap last threw his– last threw a pass in January of 2017. And nothing. I get it. It’s frustrating. And it looks like that what he did originally, 14 months ago, has everything to do with why he’s not currently playing.

But how do you prove that? Maybe he says, now, look, OK, guys have been stand– Guys have been playing the national anthem for the last 70 years in the NFL. Why now are you trying to get all the players to stand? What led to this? I just don’t know. You got Mark Geragos who’s been charged with this and filing the suit. And I get it, Skip. It’s frustrating, because this young man believes he can play. You and I both believe he can play.

I’ve detailed their structural limitations — mostly a potentially crippling lack of shooting around the beasts. DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis need to play outside-in for this to work, and they have the craft to do it — the shooting, passing and off-the-bounce oomph. They push off misses, and even combine to form the league’s biggest, meanest pick-and-roll combination.

It’s just hard to maximize two star bigs that way. They won’t grab as many offensive rebounds, or slice to the rim as often. On some possessions, one will chill around the 3-point arc. Cousins is a threat there; Davis isn’t yet.

Drafting the best player available, regardless of position, is often a wise strategy; you don’t want to overdraft an inferior talent simply to address a position of need. That being said, Porzingis (26.2 ADP) is one of the elite power forwards this season and stands to see his shot attempts and scoring numbers rise considerably now that the Carmelo Anthony era is over in New York. His contributions as a scorer, rebounder, shot-blocker and 3-point shooter make him one of the rarest talents in fantasy hoops, and if I can get him in Round 3, I’m thrilled.

Every season, Last season, I had a reason: He was injured and expected to miss most of the season due to a torn hamstring suffered in the preseason. He managed to return to play 29 games, starting 23 of them, and amazingly, he showed no ill-effects from the injury. Middleton is one of the most versatile players in the NBA, averaging 14.7 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 3.4 APG, 1.4 SPG and 1.6 3PG last season, and he’s someone I want to get either late in Round 3 or — ideally — early in Round 4.
